Forest-grown coffee is growing in what is called an agroforest. It is a planted or natural forest with agriculture embedded.
By planting various trees alongside coffee plants, the plantation will, over time, closely mimic a natural forest and ecosystem that will attract and host a variety of insects and wildlife. This environment is far more generative than the existing coffee monocultures and excellent for producing quality coffee, as it resembles the original conditions under which coffee naturally grew.

We don’t do sourcing trips. Our team based in Laos are always on hand to support farmers working with Slow. Consisting of ecological-, community engagement, and forestry experts, the Laos team is at the heart of what we do.

To solve the problem of volatile coffee prices, we guarantee the purchase of almost the entire coffee yield. We buy all types of coffee at a fair price – not just the cream of the crop at a high price.
FRUIT TREE PLANTING
We help coffee farmers invest in planting fruit trees to improve tree cover on the farms and create an extra income source from the fruits they will grow next to their coffee plants.
