Mr. Jonh, together with his wife, Mrs. Nouphai, and their five children, settled in Nongloung Village in Bolaven Plateau of Laos in 1994.
In 1997, the family started growing coffee in a ten-hectare farm lot with an elevation of 1271 meters above sea level (masl). Since then, his family spends most of their time cultivating different varieties of coffee. Mr. Jonh’s family help each other in producing high-quality coffee beans. All of his children carried on his passion for farming which contributes to the improvement of their livelihood. One of the techniques of Mr. Jonh that he passed on to his children is always to choose the best area when planting coffee trees with the right soil nutrients and temperature.
All of his farming techniques are lessons learned from his parents. Mr. Jonh believes that their methods make their coffee beans stand out in taste and quality.
Mr. Jonh is a funny guy who likes to drink beer and whiskey. Their family likes to eat quite a lot of variety of food. And even if he’s a busy man, he finds time to relax while watching football and boxing.
