FAMILY ANG
NONG LUANG VILLAGE
BOLAVEN PLATEAU, LAOS
TOTAL HECTARES: 2.3 ha
FARM ALTITUDE: 1300 m
HOUSEHOLD SIZE: 6 PEOPLE
Mr. Ang and Mrs. Kaison and their family live in Nong-Luang village, supported by their 2.3-hectare coffee plantation in the lush landscape of the Bolaven Plateau.
Family Ang settled down in the area of Nong Luang in 1995. They follow the coffee-growing ways of their ancestors and parents – growing coffee under the gentle shade of trees. His farm is very diverse – in one plot, he has 12 different species of trees, making it an ideal environment for birds and insects.

During picking season, Mr. Ang and Mrs. Kaisone take great care to select only the ripest coffee cherries, to ensure a sweet cup of coffee. After picking, they also clean out the defects before wet-milling the cherries.

Mr. Ang loves boat racing and volleyball, while Mrs. Kaisone loves to cook and enjoys fish salad, local vegetable soup. During their free time, they love to listen and sing to Lao country songs.
